Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson in 2004
Jon Kopaloff/Film MagicIn recent weeks, Adam Brody gone from “that cute guy that was in The OC” to the international sex symbol, all thanks to his role as hot Rabbi Noah Nobody wants that.
But while the Netflix romcom series pulled in 26 million viewers (and counting) in its first ten days on the streaming platform, Brody’s ex and former co-star, Rachel Bilsonadmitted that she is not one of them.
Brody, 44, stars Kristen Bellalso Bilson’s friend, on the show, which was thankfully renewed for a second season. “I hear everybody likes it,” Bilson, 43, said People. “And I couldn’t be more excited, because I literally love Kristen and Adam and they’re like my people. So I’m really excited about that and excited for them.”
The actress, who dated Brody for about three years when the pair played unlikely but beloved couple Seth and Summer in The OCsays she’s not surprised that millions of women now have what she realized 20 years ago — Brody is hot! “I feel like it’s always been there,” he said of his new heartthrob status. “But if it is, it’s worth it. I mean, he’s awesome. He is the best.”
After their split in 2006, Brody went on to marry Leighton Meesterfrom an equally iconic youth show Gossip Girls, and the couple has two children. Bilson, meanwhile, was dating an actor Hayden Christensen for ten years and the couple have a daughter, Briar, 9. After their split in 2017, she dated an actor and comedian Bill Hunterbut it was to be short-lived. Despite all the breakups, however, she says she’s still a big fan of all things romantic — and would love to star in her own rom-com (just probably not with an ex!).
“I’m a huge rom-com person,” he says. “Well, yeah, I’d take a chance, just because I’m such a movie nerd with anything romantic.”
His cast Nobody wants that have been surprised by its massive success, according to its creator Erin Foster who is furiously writing next season as we speak. “Kristen walked into the room with Justine [Lupe, who plays Morgan] to hear some stories we’ve been working on,” he said The Hollywood Reporter. “And he says he hasn’t reacted to anything like that, literally, since Frozen.”
Since Bilson is pretty much the last millennial woman in the world who hasn’t watched Nobody wants that She might want to catch up on the stats, though — because, as awkward as it is to watch your ex being adorable on camera, this show could run and run. Keep Us updated Rachel, we’d love to hear what you think!
